Our Passion and Niche

| All kids are different as how autism affects them
Autism is the fastest growing development disability in the United States. In 1980, it was estimated that one in every 2,000 children were affected with autism; today, autism is diagnosed in one of every 110 individuals. At an annual estimated cost of $90 billion dollars (in America alone), it is now clear that autism is costly and expensive. Further, it is clear that the problem exists not just in America but that it has reached epidemic proportions globally, with large numbers of cases being reported in northern Europe. Without doubt, there are critical needs for immediate, effective and long lasting responses.

| The most challenging behaviors
Our passion and expertise is to serve individuals with the most challenging behaviors. We have discovered there is a belief that autistic individuals are limited in developing their life skills and relationships. In contrast, our approach recognizes them as whole persons who are capable of creating daily and long range goals, and developing positive, loving relationships. Specifically, we believe all behaviors are chosen and our focus is to teach autistic individuals how to make better choices within the context of supportive relationships. This holistic approach sees the person in their totality and guides and encourages them to grow. We believe that their options are far greater than most assume and that no one should set limits on what they can attain. With our approach, we see that individuals improve rapidly and significantly in life-areas such as school, employment, volunteering, interpersonal activities, and in their day-to-day health and well-being. We do not claim a “cure” or “fix” for autism, but rather, we suggest an approach that is an effective way to measurably improve the quality of their lives.

| As Social Entrepreneurs
Our commitment to these individuals goes beyond being just a provider. We believe that healthy and happy relationships can bring stability in family systems, work settings, and communities. We have a keen desire to help parents, providers, and other agencies in the field. In order to push this vision forward and expand it. We believe our approach can be replicated and we will dedicate the coming years to bring it to scale as a model. Being involved at this level is what we believe we do best. This is our DNA and we are focused on providing this type and level of support.

GraceLyn Group's Mission Statement is to create, support and inspire authentic loving relationships.

Thank You, Lynn Nauth and Joël Seguin
